An Idea Whose Time Has Come

I found something interesting on the web the other day. The Knight Foundation is sponsoring a contest to fund the development of online projects that would improve local online news and deepen community engagement. When I first saw the site and read the goals of the project, I immediately thought… ‘Where is the online resource where I can get comprehensive and unbiased political information about what’s going on in my local district?’
Well, there is none… so I put in a proposal.
The more people that I can get to view, rate and comment positively on the proposal, the better chance I have of getting it funded. I think it’s an idea whose time has come and I would appreciate your assistance in getting it considered as a viable plan by the guys at Knight.
So if you can, please take a look at my proposal (link below) and rate or comment on it:
My Proposal: The Open Government Project
Thanks!

Help

'Tis a brilliant idea and, yes, whose time HAS come. I just hope it manifests.
I rated and commented. GODSPEED on your project.
Aaron,
this is an excellent idea! people could use this as one resource in getting fact-based information on highly contentious policies and legislation. something like a FactCheck at a local level.
for example, here in Washington state, on Nov. 4 voters are going to decide whether to pass Initiative 100 or not. this is a very controversial piece of proposed legislation wherein people on both sides spin the issue (what's new?). having a resource wherein people could cross-check “comprehensive and unbiased political information” on specific *local* issues will help people to make more informed fact-based decisions.
signed up and would post my rating once i get my newschallenge.org account going. will spread the word too. good luck.

Hey guys,
Thanks for your feedback and comments. I really appreciate your support. I'm pretty excited about the idea and what would be possible if a project like this was funded.
~C4 - You may need to check the junk mail folder for your account info. For whatever reason, the initial account email went straight to spam on my gmail account.
Aaron, your're right. the notification was in my spam folder. completed my account. rated and left my comment.
godspeed and keep us updated on this project.
